There are treasures to be found at Spring Bull Gallery’s 18th Annual " Les Peittes Oeuvres" Exhibition. The exhibition begins with a gala reception on Saturday, December 6 from 5-7 p.m.. Start the holiday gift giving season with the purchasing small artistic gems in oils, watercolors, pastels, graphics, glass and other media by local artists. The exhibit runs December 6, 2008 - December 31, 2008 with work changing daily as new art replaces sold pieces. The gallery will be open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 11th for Gallery Night in Newport Spring Bull Gallery located at 55 Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island is wheel chair accessible and open free to the public. The DeBlois Gallery, Newport, will host its 24th annual Members' Show, entitled "Something to See", from November 1st through November 21st. This event will showcase an exciting blend of new work created by the gallery's thirteen artist members. Represented mediums include painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, photography and assemblage. Members who will show their most recent works are: Valerie Debrule, Kathy Morton, Karen Nash, Valorie Sheehan, and Doreen Dewhurst from Newport; Portsmouth residents Izabella Casselman, Helen Poniatowski and Felicia Touhey; Rosemary Day and Rodie Siegler from Middletown; Fall River residents Ron Caplain and Marion Wilner and Kathleen Armor from Bristol.

Members of the New England Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America will exhibit colored pencil works at the Spring Bull Gallery during the month of November. The exhibit, titled "H2O" incorporates each artist's interpretation of water.
This diversified exhibit will encompass a wide variety of colored pencil techniques and colored pencil mixed with other mediums. In conjunction with the exhibit, the chapter will be having a silent auction of 5x7" original colored pencil drawings that will last throughout the month. Come meet the artists and explore this unique art medium at the opening reception on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 5-7PM. Exhibit runs November 1 - December 3 2008, and Newport Gallery Night is Thursday, November 13, 5-8 p.m.

Spring Bull Gallery plays host to a unique group of painters from across southern New England , who paint together under the direction of artist, Carole Berren. The group, ranging in age from 17 - 89 and calling themselves "Le Sore Bun" after the Paris Art Ecole "Le Sorbonne" have gathers to share the joy of friendship and the journey of learning and exploration through their art. Carole Berren, recognized for her outstanding work, has won many local and national honours including those from American Watercolor Society and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. She is a member of the Art League of Rhode Island, 19 on Paper, Newport, Wickford, and North Shore Art Associations as well as the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
Come and join these artists as they celebrate at the gala opening reception on Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 5-7PM. The show runs October 4 - 30, 2008.

The DeBlois Gallery
A new exhibit entitled "Glass and Paint" at the DeBlois Gallery, Newport, will feature works by painter Rene Gagnon and glass artists David and Jennifer Clancy. This show will run from October 4th through October 28th. Gagnon, an internationally recognized and collected painter, has incorporated pop icons into a new and exciting body of work for this show. The Clancys have utilized "handblown glass to reflect the beauty and liveliness of aquatic life juxtaposed against steel" to create a collection of wall and free-standing sculptures. The public is invited to attend an Opening Reception to meet the artists on Saturday, October 4th from 5-7PM.

Four powerful woman artists, who share their passion of painting, will be celebrated with an opening reception on September 6th at Spring Bull Gallery. Danna Brackenbury, Paula Dewell, Johanna McKenzie and Jane Puerini have come together to explore the dynamics of painting.
Danna Brackenbury, with a BA from UMN, took to "en plein aire" painting after a career in the commercial art world . She has now challenged herself to purse capturing in paint the spirt of Nature. Paula Dewell, a URI graduate and a high school art educator for over 25 years, is now devoting her time and passion to her own painting. She still teaches on a part time bases and is represented by several galleries in the west bay area. Johanna McKenzie, an active member of Spring Bull Gallery, began her art career as a sculptor but soon turn to capturing nature in encaustics as well as oil on copper and oil on panel. The fourth member of this group Jane Puerini began her "love affair" with still life many years ago when challenged by a college professor to produce one over a semester break. She is still striving to render
her subject matter faithfully with brushwork and paint texture.
Paint4 brings these compounding talents of four very talented women to Spring Bull Gallery for the month of September. The public is cordially invited to the opening reception to meet the these artists on Saturday, September 6th from 5-7 pm. There will be a special Gallery Night in Newport on Thursday, September 11th from 5- 8pm.
